Brakes

There are several pieces that make up your disc brake system. The rotor discs, brake calipers, and brake pads.

How Audi Brakes Work

Braking is the most important aspect of your Audi's performance. When a driver needs to stop, the brake pedal is engaged. From here, brake fluid is pressurized down a series of brake lines that connect to the brake caliper assembly. A piston engages the connected brake pads, which firmly compress into the surface of the metallic rotor discs. The rotors are directly behind the wheels and the friction from the pads slows and eventually stops the momentum of the car.

Signs of Failing Brakes in Audi

Over the years or with 96560 km on. Your Audi is when you may notice the need for brake replacements. Rotors and brake pads can wear thin or become damaged from weather and road elements. And your caliper arms will dampen in performance because of overuse. Drivers may feel a jerking or pulling sensation when braking or hear abnormal noises with unusual vibrations. A spongy brake pedal is also a sign to seek new parts ASAP.
